No one is buying these games for the “plot” (with that word used in the loosest possible terms) they’re buying it for the driving. There are way more characters, and they all annoying. Is this a dig at the quality of construction in the UK? I don’t know. Yes, you can drive through stone walls, but they do slow you down a lot more than the trees and hedges do.Why change this? What was wrong with showing your car crossing the finish line, then showing the race results and championship standings over video of the racers driving to parc fermé? This feels like arcade-y menu screens of Forza Motorsport leaking into the open world of Horizon, and I don’t like it. The post-race screen is changed to be in a white void instead of on the race finish line and it really ruins the immersion. But that puts me in good company with F1 World Champion Mika Hakkinen. I continue to be not very good on gravel.FH4’s England though, it really looks like England, and English people agree with me. The suburbs of Surfer’s Paradise in FH3 basically look the same as the suburbs of Nice in FH2. It really does look like England, whereas parts of FH2 and 3 kind of look same-y.It’s more haphazard than in previous games, and it’s harder to find what you’re looking for. Although I am not a fan of the new menu layout.

This was due, since FH2 and FH3 were essentially identical in terms overall look.

They redesigned the whole festival aesthetic from FH3, and I’m not sure it’s better.Maybe this is “more realistic,” but it feels like I’m hydroplaning all the time. My wheel feels a lot floatier than in FH3.(For example, the two buttons on the wheel itself are pause and change camera, whereas buttons you might actually want to use like e-brake are over on the shifter button panel.) Unfortunately… This is probably a good thing, since in FH3 the button layout was clearly done by someone who had never seen the Logitech G25 before. They moved all the buttons around on my wheel.Seriously, non-Forza players will have no idea what I’m talking about. Skip this post if you’ve never played a Forza game.
